Welcome Address

The German Stem Cell Network (GSCN) welcomes you to the 10th GSCN Conference from 13 – 16 September 2022 at the Halle Münsterland in Münster.

The conference will cover the latest findings in stem cell biology and is THE meeting to be for a large number of stem cell researchers in Germany. This year it will be a Joint Anniversay Event: The 10th  GSCN Conference and the 20th anniversary of the Stem Cell Network.NRW, which will organize a special symposium in Münster. Because of the joint anniversary, the GSCN Conference will take place for 4 days instead of the usual 3 days.

We expect around 400+ participants, excellent international keynotes, an exciting Presidential Symposium with the GSCN Awardees, a non-PI Meeting, an ELSA Symposium, the NRW Symposium, lots of sessions and much more with the presentation of new findings and intense discussions about new data, two poster sessions and two social events to get back together in person and network! An interesting and broad industry exhibition will offer latest technologies and personal contact as well as a set of sessions.

Regarding the pandemic: SARS Cov-2 still causes severe restrictions on public life worldwide and we cannot foresee the development yet. The health and safety of all GSCN conference participants is our top priority. For this reason, we will continue to monitor developments closely in 2022 and follow the guidelines and recommendations of the relevant authorities.

Please join us for the 10th GSCN Conference – be part of the community, be part of the networking, the discussions, and the joy to meet again!

We would be pleased to welcome you in Münster!

With best regards,

Professor Dr. Hans Schöler
GSCN President (2021/2022)

Information on corona pandemic

Also in 2022 the SARS coronavirus-2 (SARS-Cov-2) is still causing severe restrictions on public life worldwide. The health and safety of GSCN conference participants is our top priority. For this reason, we will follow the guidelines of the responsible authorities. We cannot foresee at the current time (February 2022) how the regulations will be in September 2022. BUT: We are confident after the conference in Dresden 2021 with a strict and succesful hygienic regimen, that the conference in Münster will take place, in person and under safe conditions. We will inform you about specific regulations if there are any changes.

10th Anniversary of the GSCN Conferences

2013: Renowed scientists in the field of stem cell research organized their first German-wide conference in Berlin. A nationwide network is being formed and financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
2022: The GSCN Conference is celebrating it's 10th annual conference! With 400 members, 19 research institutes and 19 companies, it has grown into an important network in the national and international field of stem cell research.

20th Anniversary of the Stem Cell Network NRW

The Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of NRW has founded the Stem Cell Network NRW twenty years ago in 2002. It was an exciting time with a fascinating new research field - stem cell research. Twenty-three universities, university hospitals, and non-university research institutions in NRW that are active in the field of stem cell research or in the application of research results from this field, have joined the network till today. Let's celebrate - with a special NRW Symposium on 14 September in the frame of the GSCN Conference in Münster.
