Welcome Address

We welcome you to the GSCN Conference 2021 from 6 to 8 October 2021 in Ulm in Southern Germany!

After a great virtual GSCN conference 2020, we dare the step toward a physical conference in 2021 again – we all missed the personal interaction and networking in the last year. We invite you with a warm welcome back to a GSCN conference as we knew it in the past years.

We expect around 400 participants, five great international key notes, lots of sessions with the presentation of new findings and intense discussions about new data, two poster sessions and two social events to finally get back together in person! An interesting and broad industry exhibition will offer latest technologies and personal contact as well as a set of sessions.

There will be different symposia from ELSA to different focus topics to a central Presidential Session, where the GSCN awardees 2021 will present their findings and a presidential invite will offer insight into new data. A Non-PI-meeting will be again part of the conference program – and as innovative input from the pandemic experience

Please join us for the 9 GSCN Conference – be part of the community, be part of the networking, the discussions, and the joy to meet again! As a participant described in the online survey 2019: “Networking is great and clearly in the heart of the conference. Close proximity to leaders in the field. Relevance of presented topics. / Great presentations, very good keynotes, good opportunities for networking.” Let’s go for it!

Anyhow, we will clearly follow the rules according to the pandemic situation at the time – and change to a virtual version if that is safer for everybody’s health. But our hope is a reunion in person in Ulm at the GSCN Conference on 6 to 8 October 2021! I am looking forward seeing you there,

Also in 2021 the SARS coronavirus-2 (SARS-Cov-2) is causing severe restrictions on public life worldwide. The health and safety of GSCN conference participants is our top priority. For this reason, we will follow the guidelines of the responsible authorities. We cannot foresee at the current time (April 2021) whether the conference will take place either 1) completely, 2) with reduced participation numbers (to allow additional space between participants), 3) virtually (online), or 4) will be canceled. Therefore, we accept payments of conference fees only after 25 July to avoid unnecessary administrative efforts and banking fees if payment have to be reimbursed in case of cancelation (4) or reduced numbers of participants (2). Nevertheless, we consider the registration legally binding and you will have to transfer the amount when the conference takes place physically. The rules of cancelation apply.
